Getting Lost in Good Fiction
Got back on track with a great slew of reads this past month! I think I can still make it to 45 books in ‘25!
The Lost Coast Calls Us Home
If you are a fan of Stranger Things and the unseen cosmic horrors of H.P. Lovecraft, then “By The Light of Dead Stars” is 100% for you.
However, it’s the human element that really steals the show in BTLODS.
Why? Because protagonist Zelda Ruiz'’s trauma remains grounded in a reality that we all know. The trauma of having and losing.
Elric, The Village Stuck Between A Rock & A Hard Place
A beautiful speculative dark fantasy novel that deals with the ramifications of generational trauma and parental abuse that pits our protagonist Pyet against the truth of her mother’s words and the hidden secrets of Elric.
Damn, I Need To Read More
Joe Hill continues to impress me with every story of his that I read. I feel confident in saying he is as talented, if not more so, than his bestselling father. But he definitely has his father's tone, making a dark supernatural event feel entirely commonplace, while hanging a lingering shroud of mystery overhead.
Is Lucifer Morningstar Welcome In The Confessional?
This book was not what I expected, and because of my lack of knowledge regarding religious history, I actually learned a TON, which was a neat bonus. But what Lutton does exceedingly well is to have two dichotomous characters butt heads over their convictions regarding confession and forgiveness.
Good Stories That Broke A Reading Slump...
Only two new books to add to my update of reviews, but I can feel the reading slump ending and the call of many tomes in my ear…
I've Been READING...
Though, I’ve been a little MIA from posting, I haven’t stopped reading! Here are the eight books I finished since we last spoke
Why Your Next Vacation Should AVOID The Beach
This has all the makings of a perfect spooky season read. It’s fast-paced, unsettling, twisted, and delivers a heart-wrenching take on the vampiric monster mythos.
